CAMBRIDGE - Choreographer Mark Morris essentially had Christopher
Lydon for dinner Monday night.
It wasn't in a mean-spirited way, mind you. Rather, it was in the
open-hearted-but-don't-expect-me-to-brook-fools manner that has
characterized the man who came to the world's attention in New York,
in the early 1980s, as both the savior of modern dance and the most
musical choreographer since George Balanchine.
The occasion was "Morris on the Move," a conversation at Harvard's
Sanders Theatre between Morris (draped in a large blue scarf, his
curls slicked back) and Lydon, the former host of WBUR's "The
Connection." The exchange between the two opened like this:
