You don't have to be a car nut to salivate when you see futuristic
vehicles a step away from production. They're sexy and sleek, and
they do everything short of cooking a gourmet dinner. But even though
many of these cars are the last word in automotive design, most will
never go into production.
Concept cars, as they're fondly referred to by automotive
companies, are produced by most major automakers for a number of
reasons. Most importantly, they display what the future holds,
according to Suzuki spokeswoman Rebecca Rose. Some cars demonstrate
abilities in a certain area such as technology, performance, or
luxury, while others are designed as a complete package.
