Thanks to voters like Walter Rice, 61, a dairy farmer living
outside Loudonville, Ohio, Republicans in 1994 won control of the
House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years.
And thanks to voters like Rice, Republicans may not control
the House for much longer.
Rice is a self-described "angry white male" who is deeply
mistrustful of government and politicians, a political independent
who supported Ross Perot in 1992 and voted for the Republican
congressional candidate in 1994.
Not this year. He said he is voting for the Democratic
challenger, though Rice admits he doesn't know much about him. He
