The Waldorf School, a nontraditional private school in Lexington, has put off plans to relocate to the former site of a Japanese exchange school in Lincoln, a decision that has Lincoln town officials fearful the land could attract developments over which the town would have little or no control.

Holt Massey, a Lincoln resident and real estate investor, purchased the 30-acre property with his brother, Ivor, in October on behalf of the Waldorf School, with the intention of selling all of it to the school.
