Kevin Meaney bends down beside the back stairs of a large ranch-
style house in a leafy Lexington neighborhood and pulls a bait tube
out of the ground. Inside it, he discovers a clamorous, burrowing
crowd of white, inchworm-like termites.
Bingo. That's pay dirt for Meaney, 33, a Billerica father of
three who travels all over northwestern suburbs such as Woburn,
Stoneham, Tewksbury, Reading, and Lawrence, battling carpenter ants,
bees, hornets, bats, spiders, mice, rats, beetles, and, on this day,
termites for NW Pest Control Inc. in Waltham.
