Prevailing in what he called the most bitter campaign of his
political career, Nashua Mayor Bernie Streeter said he is looking
forward to another four years in the corner office of City Hall.
"I thoroughly enjoy being mayor," Streeter said, the day after
winning his reelection bid.
Streeter took all nine city wards in last Tuesday's election,
receiving 5,913 votes. Alderman at large Steve Bolton came in second
with 4,952, and write-in candidate Don Davidson, the former mayor who
narrowly lost his seat to Streeter four years ago, followed with
3,933.
Throughout the summer and into the fall, Bolton and Davidson
characterized Streeter as being an aloof manager who lacked fiscal
responsibility ...
