The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority has filled a key
position at the $800 million Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
The authority yesterday named Nicholas A. Langella, a former Rhode
Island and New York convention center manager, as its general manager
in Boston, a title that carries a $135,000 annual salary and control
over the day-to-day operations of both the new convention center and
the Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in the Back Bay.
Hynes operations manager Tom Miliano will continue in that role,
reporting to Langella.
Langella's primary responsibility will be to run the new facility
on a day-to-day basis, manage customer service, and coordinate the
