Although a wag once remarked that Larry King was the Style
section of broadcast journalism, the March 25 Style story by William
Powers seems especially biased and unfair.
The issue is framed in the first paragraph with the question,
"Why is this man such a joke?" and then the story proceeds to
disprove this thesis with the substance that follows. Moreover, in a
caption, "LA\DIES MAN, Larry King," use is made of an unattributed
gossip item from a recent Liz Smith column.
