ANDOVER The distractions were plentiful for the Andover High School girls' swim team.

For starters, their home pool at Greater Lawrence Tech was undergoing renovations and wasn't ready until the second week of September. So, in the words of coach Marilyn Fitzgerald, they had to "beg and borrow" pool time from Phillips Academy, Indian Ridge Country Club, the Andover/North Andover YMCA, and Haverhill High. It wasn't the best situation, Fitzgerald admitted, but it was "wet and it was water."
