Hockey might be a team sport, but the greatest player of all
time is having his way with one of the greatest teams of all time.
And if this keeps up, the St. Louis Blues might spring one of the
greatest upsets of all time.
Wayne Gretzky had a goal and an assist this afternoon, leading
St. Louis to a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 5 of
the Western Conference semifinal series at Joe Louis Arena. The
victory puts the Blues on the brink of doing the impossible:
eliminating the Red Wings Tuesday night in St. Louis.
That's right -- Game 6 might just be the Red Wings' last.
