A glance at the rosters of area minor league teams reinforces
the impact on baseball of players from the Caribbean. The Dominican
Republic remains the No. 1 source, with the Frederick Keys listing
five players from that nation, the Bowie Baysox three.
The Netherland Antilles recently has become a stopping ground
for baseball scouts, with impressive results. Outfielder Eugene
Kingsale, the Carolina League stolen base leader with 19, and
left-handed reliever Radhames Dykhoff of the Keys are from Aruba, as
is right-handed starter Calvin Maduro of the Baysox. Right-handed
