The expatriate American author Gertrude Stein reportedly once
sent some of her unusual prose to an editor, who returned it
promptly with a rejection letter written in Stein-ese: "I do not

A similarly spirited review of John Cage's "Europera 5," which
was presented Wednesday night by the Spoleto Festival USA, might
read something like this: Fourscore and. Wednesday night Spoleto.
This. When in the course of. Presented. Stately, plump. Europera.
