Modernist French designer Philippe Starck, whose creations range
from toothbrushes for Target to surrealistic interiors at some of the
world's hippest hotels, is on the phone from New York explaining in a
thick-as-foie-gras French accent why he chose Boston as the canvas
for his next creative endeavor.
"I love the sea, I love the outdoors, I love boats, and I love
intelligence, and that is why Boston is for me. It is the elegance of
intelligence."
Starck and his development partner, John Hitchcox, call their
company YOO Ltd. and are involved in two condo projects in Boston.
