Boston looks great in David E. Kelley's new series, "Boston
Legal." Boston lawyers, not so great. They're a bunch of ego-
tripping wolves wearing designer suits and placid smiles. They're
damaged, and quite damaging. And they're also loads of fun to watch,
as they calculate means - smutty photos, brazen lies, intimidating
eye contact - to reach lucrative ends.
Watching this spinoff of "The Practice," which premieres tomorrow
night at 10 on Channel 5, is like watching a shark tank at feeding
time. These shrewd, ethically distorted attorneys pounce. When Mark
Valley's Brad Chase walks into the firm like a white knight and says,
"I like to be straight up with people," you know he's dead ...
