A new agency is facing a familiar question: Should Devens become
the state's 352d community?
Although the buzz about Devens becoming a town has been louder
since it received its own ZIP code (01434) in July, other options are
still on the table, said William Marshall, chairman of the Devens
Disposition Executive Board, which will hold its second meeting today
at Shirley town offices.
"We want to explore other possible scenarios, such as going back
to the original town lines or realigning town lines so that one of
the three towns would control the greater part" of Devens, said
Marshall, referring to the towns that contain parts of the former US
Army base.
