It's easy to forget, now that we're in the age of the iPod and
everyone is his own DJ, that there was a time when you literally
could not escape Duran Duran. The band's preening, prancing synth-
pop saturated the airwaves; the TV screen was filled with the band's
lurid and primitive videos.
Singer Simon LeBon, romping like a schoolgirl, caused mass
hysteria. Many young minds were bruised by Duran Duran, by the daft
lyrics
