Article: STANLEY DOUBLE-TEAMED IN RACE

Thomas M. Stanley has good reason to be optimistic.

The Ninth Middlesex District state representative rolled to victory in September's Democratic primary against a local political powerhouse. He has more yard signs in Waltham where 72 percent of the voters live than either of his challengers. And at the first debate, he had more audience support than Green-Rainbow candidate Jill Stein or Republican Linda Fosburg.

Still, Stanley says, his victory next month is hardly a sure thing.

"I feel great about the campaign," he said, "But I have taken nothing for granted."
