Changing New Hampshire demographics, especially in fast-growing
Seacoast towns, and rising numbers of "undeclared" voters are
creating challenges for candidates and pollsters in a state where
both the gubernatorial and presidential races are tight.
Town officials say voter registrations are up in many Seacoast
communities, not uncommon for a presidential election year. Yet, some
localities are reporting new-voter registrations at an unprecedented
pace.
A number of voters are registering as undeclared, say officials,
throwing a potential wildcard in the swing state of New Hampshire.
The shifts are seemingly miniscule, but could play an important role
in tight races.
