The Baltimore Orioles will spend the remaining three-plus
weeks of baseball's regular season chasing home run milestones as
well as the franchise's first playoff berth since 1983.
It has been one of the most hitter-friendly seasons in the
history of the sport, and the Orioles are taking advantage of it.
With 23 games left, they're 15 home runs away from the single-season
major league home run record.
But the Orioles' fate probably won't be determined by their
muscle-flexing exploits, but by their pitching. They'll open a
seven-game homestand Friday, beginning with a four-game series
against the Detroit Tigers. They're a game behind the Chicago White
