Kobe Bryant usually makes things seem easy on the basketball
court. But Bryant was clearly struggling in the fourth quarter of the
Los Angeles Lakers' 104-101 loss to the Celtics last night at the
FleetCenter.
Bryant failed to score in the final 15 minutes 58 seconds and
missed a 3-point attempt at the final buzzer as the Lakers maneuvered
into position to send the game into overtime, despite trailing by 5
points with 28 seconds remaining. Bryant has been contending with a
rape charge for more than a year - he refused comment last night on a
report that the case has been settled - but his performance seemed
more influenced by a right ankle injury.
