Take Dave Goucher, the Bruins' play-by-play announcer on WBZ radio. When the NHL lockout commenced, it looked as if he faced a bleak winter, workwise, doing fill-in duty for Gil Santos or Tom Cuddy delivering drive-time sports reports.

So Goucher went to WBZ program director Peter Casey and asked if there was anything else he could do to help out around the station.
