Ice cream cones, cups, freezes and floats may be typical ice
cream store treats, but my freezer at home holds something better.
It's full of homemade ice cream pies and terrines, ice cream
sandwiches and even bite-size ice cream nuggets wrapped in
chocolate.
These are all do-way-ahead desserts that promise to keep you
out of the hot kitchen but still keep you well stocked with cool
summer sweets. To put them together, just raid your supermarket ice
cream case, add homemade sundae sauce or cookies and begin
"construction."
Store-bought ice cream is the main ingredient in these
desserts so use a good-quality one. But that doesn't mean
