When the Washington Redskins opened training camp, they heard
Coach Norv Turner talk about everyone having a chance, about the
importance of taking advantage of opportunities and of making plays.
And now he can point to fullback Larry Bowie, tackle Shar
Pourdanesh and safeties Brian Walker and Darryl Pounds as proof.
All have taken advantage of their opportunities and are headed
for spots on the regular season roster. Bowie and Walker are
undrafted rookie free agents; Pourdanesh a two-year veteran of the
CFL; and Pounds a 1995 draft choice who was bothered by back
problems a year ago.
Bowie, Pourdanesh and Pounds will be in the starting lineup
for Friday's preseason game against ...
