The most exquisite part of the thrill is in that instant
between letting go of the bar and grabbing hold of the catcher, when
the trapeze artist flies through the air and time, space and
distance seem suspended.
That, at least, is what Bob Williams, 54, of Gaithersburg,
thinks, and he ought to know. This summer, the real estate appraiser
is learning the art of trapeze in a back yard in McLean.
"I really like flying," he said. "You feel gravity pulling on
you, but when you're between this bar and that bar there's a great
sense of freedom."
