MIAMI - It was his first NFL start and everybody knew it.
The Dolphins were first and goal from the 5 with 58 seconds
remaining and Ellis Hobbs knew what was coming. The Dolphins were
going to pick on New England's rookie cornerback.
Dolphins quarterback Gus Frerotte threw a fade to Marty Booker in
the left corner. Hobbs was equal to the task, however, and swatted
the ball away.
On second down, Frerotte threw another fade to the left corner,
this time to Chris Chambers. Again, Hobbs had it covered.
"[The sun] was in my face and in his face," Hobbs said of the
first throw. "It comes down to making a play. You can't make any
excuses. If he had caught that ball you wouldn't hear any excuses ...
