No matter the seventh-inning double by Jimmy Rollins, nor the two-
run home run by Chase Utley that followed into the Red Sox bullpen in
right field. This was, other than those two pitches and maybe a
handful of others, a night for Josh Beckett. Though his ERA wouldn'-
t get the full benefit of the zeros he recorded through 5 1/3 perfect
innings - it did drop from 5.09 pregame to 4.84 post - his (slightly)
dented reputation would. Stiffle the Phillies through six? Strike out
their best batter three times (twice on curveballs)? That, surely,
will help. As will two home runs (Nos. 454 and 455 of his career)
from Manny Ramirez, his five RBIs providing more than enough offense
for the Sox to ...
