Article: Menino makes a move to move City Hall

WHILE AT first a new City Hall sounds like a no-brainer - who hasn't mocked the existing one? - Mayor Menino's plan could use some work ("Mayor says he'll build waterfront City Hall," Page A1, Dec. 13). Although the proposed City Hall would not bring as much traffic to the waterfront as, say, a Patriots game, there would be a substantial increase in cars to the maze of roads that many people still have difficulty navigating.

Yes, these days the waterfront is the trendy place to develop, but one must remember what is being built there. The convention center, hotels, and offices - all great - have nothing to do with city government. What would out-of-state conventioneers and tourists want ...
