Robert Farmer, a political junkie with an uncanny knack for fund-raising, is the behind-the-scenes money man who would be charged with bankrolling a run for the presidency by Gov. Dukakis.

He says he can raise a minimum of $6.5 million for a Dukakis presidential campaign, mostly in Massachusetts and the rest in the big-money states of New York and California. If Dukakis were to do well in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, money would be no problem, he says.
