QUEBEC - An injury, Doug Keans' back muscle spasms, gave goalie
Cleon Daskalakis a reprieve out of limbo. And now Frank Simonetti,
the Bruins' promising young defenseman from Stoneham, has slipped
into Daskalakis' uncertain status.
He apparently has refused to accept demotion to Moncton in the
American Hockey League and will remain with the Bruins, practicing
with them and awaiting a twist of fate that will keep him in the
NHL.
Simonetti was considering retiring from hockey. Simonetti
doesn't want to go to Moncton, believing his career will not
progress with coach Terry Crisp.
He has told friends that he has two good job offers outside
hockey and will take a hard look at his future ...
