Rev. Richard Knott Martin, 48, of Winchester, an assistant
in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts to Rev. David E. Johnson,
Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts, and former rector of All Saint's
Church, Belmont, died of cancer Thursday in Spaulding Hospital.
A Winchester native, Rev. Martin was raised in Chevy Chase,
Md. and Olney, Md. After he graduated from Gettysburg College and
the Episcopal Theological Seminary in Virginia, he joined the
staff of St. Stephen's Church in Sewickley, Pa. as a
missionary-in-training .
Rev. Martin later established a drug and alcohol abuse
rehabiliation mission in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. He also
