Article: CITY PLANS A BAN ON ETHNIC JOKES AT WORK

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Starting next week, city employees in Long Branch will be barred by law from telling racial or ethnic jokes on the job.

Long Branch city administrator Anthony J. Muscillo said although he does not believe a prejudice problem exists among city employees, a directive outlining the ban on ethnic jokes at work will be issued tomorrow with employee paychecks.

"We'd rather be safe than sorry. We can't afford another lawsuit," Muscillo said, referring to a suit filed by former police dispatcher Gloria Locust.
