For the second straight year the Globe festival celebrates St.
Patrick's Day with an evening of Irish song. This year's program
features tenor Robert White in a program of classical and ethnic
songs dedicated to the famous Irish singer John McCormack with such
songs as "The Bard of Armagh," "I Hear You Calling Me," "Roses of
Picardy," "Danny Boy," "The Garden Where the Praties Grow," "When
You And I Were Young, Maggie" and more.
In 1984, on the 100th anniversary of McCormack's birth, White
was selected by the BBC to perform for its commemorative telecast
in Kildare, Ireland, where McCormack lived. It was seen by millions
