Boston School Committee member Joseph W. Casper yesterday
angrily questioned Superintendent Laval S. Wilson's ability to lead
the city's public school system, saying Wilson's new Boston
Education Plan contains proposals the board has already endorsed
that Wilson has failed to implement.
During a student safety subcommittee meeting at School
Department headquarters, the South End-South Boston representative
was so angered by the education plan that he slammed down a gavel,
which then flew over the dais, and proclaimed, "Tuesday, the damn
fight starts. I'm not going to come to any more meetings and debate
programs that are not carried out."
