Article: BIBLE SPEAKS CHURCH WILL MOVE FROM LENOX TO AVOID TRUSTEE CONTROL

LENOX - Unwilling to let a court-ordered trustee run their institution's affairs, leaders of The Bible Speaks church here said yesterday they will close the doors of their 65-acre campus-style headquarters and move out of state.

Calling the appointment of a trustee a violation of the First Amendment rule of separation of church and state, leaders of the 13-year-old church held their last religious service Sunday. Yesterday they notified 150 employees, 1,200 parishioners and 950 students of their plan to fold the operation here.
