RUMFORD, R.I. - It took Bob Lewis, a Walker Cup veteran,
only a year and a half to get his first three holes-in-one "back
when I was 21-years old," but another 20 years to get his fourth.
His timing couldn't have been better during the Northeast
Amateur yesterday at Wannamoisett Country Club, as Lewis' 5-iron
shot on the eighth hole bounced once and spun into the cup.
Lewis' first competitive ace provided the Warren, Ohio, native
with the shot of adrenaline that propelled him to a 4-under 65 and
the third-round lead at 208, two strokes better than Walker Cup
teammate and two-time Northeast champ Jay Sigel of Berwyn, Pa.
Lewis' round of 32-33 was only two shots off the course ...
