So you've never been to Paris? And you're not likely to come
now, are you? After all, the dollar has plummeted in value. Besides
that, Parisians aren't known for being, well, terribly hospitable
to Americans.
Until a recent business trip gave me an opportunity to spend a
weekend here -- my first visit -- Paris had never been high on my
list of prospective vacation destinations. For that, I now formally
apologize to Paris.
In 60 hours, I learned much about this most enchanting city,
principally that it'll take several long visits, the first of which
I eagerly await, to really get to know Paris.
But I also learned two other things that surprised me. First,
