To some, the Massachusetts State House is just a lovely landmark
-- a glittering golden dome on Beacon Hill.
But take one step inside the historic structure and you'll
find a wealth of history at hand. Over here, for example, is where
the Marquis de Lafayette walked, when he visited Boston to help lay
the cornerstone for the Bunker Hill Monument. Over there is where
hordes of young Civil War soldiers stood, receiving arms,
ammunition and other equipment to drive ol' Dixie down. . .
Protesters and Presidents, abolitionists and
anti-abortionists, Indian chiefs and Indian fighters, senators and
suffragists have all been through these marbled ...
