We've had a number of inquiries about the Globe's cruising yacht,
Verboten, which has been close to the heart of so many yarns and
alarms in years past.
Verboten, you will recall, is this Yachting Department's
60-foot ketch- rigged double-ended steel canoe with heavy scantings
(though capable of speeds in excess of 14 knots on a wind just
abaft the beam).
And you may recall that Verboten was damaged when, en route
from Australia last spring, she was involved in the daring rescue
of the schoolship, Lamp of Wisdom, that had been blown onto the
rocks during some filthy weather in the outer Antilles. An entire
