FOXBOROUGH - Larry Linne has had better days. When he woke up
Thursday, he received a call from Dallas informing him that his
uncle had thrown Linne's wife and 16-day-old daughter out of the
home the three were sharing.
After spending approximately $40 in phone calls and setting up
his family at his father's home in Midland, Texas, Linne
concentrated on his job as one of the replacement players for the
striking Patriots.
Practice went routinely enough, but when Linne was escorted
back to his motel by Patriots assistant coach Bobby Grier, he was
confronted by his former teammates on the picket line. Not only did
Linne receive verbal abuse, he had to scramble out of the car to
