Eclectic is a much - bused word, a handy term for musicologists
unable to narrowly classify the type of music performed by a
specific artist. The savants usually mention how the musician in
question coalesces elements of classical, jazz, rock, blues, Third
World and, even, big band in order to give him or her a musical
identity.
It would be wiser to give the term eclectic a much-needed rest
and let one's own perceptions of musical mechandise suffice. Such
is the case with Peter Gordon, a classically-trained saxophonist/
composer who -- here we go ...
