EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - For one maddening, frustrating game,
Steve Grogan was 24 years old again last night. Unfortunately for
his New England Patriots, he passed like it.
Revisiting the days of yesteryear -- when every throw he made
in the final two minutes of a game was as dangerous to his own team
as to his opposition -- Grogan rifled an interception into the
waiting hands of New York linebacker Lawrence Taylor with 1:09 to
play at the Meadowlands to preserve a 17-10 Giants victory in
near-classic, pubescent-Grogan style.
The Patriots' defense had just finished pinning the Giants at
