A. The $1.4 billion issue of shares for construction of the England to France cross channel tunnel was sold last Friday.

Early reports indicate that the $635.4 million each allotted to French and English investors was undersubscribed, but the $200 million worth placed with foreign institutions was sold readily. No provision was made for public trading of the stock in this country. An interested investor will have to deal through a broker who trades in the local currency on the foreign exchanges.
