Boston College football coach Jack Bicknell said yesterday he has not been contacted by Ohio State, even though sources in Columbus say he is the leading candidate to replace Earle Bruce, who was fired two weeks ago.

Two Ohio State sources named Bicknell as the front-runner, according to a story in yesterday's Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. One source said the announcement could come as soon as tomorrow. The other source said recently hired athletic director Jim Jones has not settled on the choice.

"At this point in time, I don't think there is a leading candidate," Jones told the Dispatch. Ohio State is also considering
