Ron Fields, the quarterback, had a rough day, completing no
passes in four attempts with one interception. Ron Fields, the
cornerback, was the star of the game, returning a fourth-quarter
interception 30 yards for a touchdwon and leading West Roxbury to a
14-0 Division 5 Super Bowl championship victory over Greater
Lawrence yesterday.
Leading, 6-0, West Roxbury had a fourth and 1 at the Greater
Lawrence 8 when the Fields-led offense stalled again. Running back
Daryll Simmons was stopped for a 2-yard loss, and Greater Lawrence
took over on downs.
On the next play, Lawrence quarterback Nathan Decotis was hit
as he tried to threw to Mike Laforge, and Fields came up ...
