Article: A DEDICATION AMID TEARS AT ST. AMBROSE OLD CHURCH GUTTED BY BLAZE IN 1984

It took Sister Rita Murray 15 minutes of tears and a walk around St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester yesterday before she could put away memories of the old church, where as a child she had attended daily Mass, and enter the new building.

Rev. Thomas F. Motherway, formerly an assistant pastor at St. Ambrose, visited the parish for the first time since a devastating car accident two years ago that has confined him to a wheelchair. As he was greeted warmly by parishioners, Father Motherway confided that he missed the gothic beauty of the old church.
