Article: MILTON CURTIS ROAD COMPLEX SCRAPPED PLANNED ELDERLY HOUSING ANNEX MUST FIND ANOTHER SITE

MILTON - The impending passage of the $600 billion federal budget will kill a proposal for an elderly housing annex on Curtis Road that many residents and town officials believed was far better suited to a more rural part of town.

"This puts an end to it, once and for all," said Rep. Brian Donnelly (D-Mass.), who authored the ammendment to the budget package that disqualifies a $3.3 million addition to Unquity House, an existing 139-unit elderly complex located at 30 Curtis Road.

The location for approximately 60 new eldery units has been hotly disputed for 18 months in a town where more than 500 elderly residents are on a housing waiting list. The ammendment forces the devloper ...
