Article: KENNEDY EXPECTED TO VOTE FOR HARRINGTON VOTE SEEN AS ASSURING CONFIRMATION OF REPUBLICAN'S NOMINATION AS US DISTRICT JUDGE

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will vote to confirm Edward F. Harrington as a federal district judge when the Senate Judiciary Committee meets tomorrow, meaning approval for the controversial nominee is assured, committee sources said yesterday.

Harrington's nomination by President Reagan has been the focus of intense local debate. Opposition has been led by two former presidents of the Massachusetts Bar Association who contend he has a volatile temper and is biased against women.
