The arrival of the spring creations of Paris designer Christian
Lacroix at Charles Sumner in Boston, and coming to Bloomingdale's
in Chestnut Hill is cause for celebration. For Christian Lacroix
(pronounce it "la kwa") is the young French designer from Provence
whose first couture collection, shown in Paris last July, drew rave
reviews from many members of the press and public, and according to
many store owners, changed every woman's wardrobe, even if
indirectly.
Just last week at the couture shows in Paris, Lacroix received
the prestigious Golden Thimble award, judged by a committee of
journalists, sponsored by the Helena Rubinstein cosmetic house and
presented by Bernadette Chirac, ...
