What began as work toward doctoral theses for two
Massachusetts Institute of Technology students has developed into a
business that has the potential of all of space.
Byron K. Lichtenberg and Anthony P. Arrott are the co-founders
of Payload Systems Inc., the Wellesley firm that has gained
national attention as the first US company to successfully
negotiate a deal with the Soviet Union and gain US government
approval to use the Soviets' Mir space station for a scientific
experiment.
