A Vienna man has been charged with trying to hire a hit man --
who turned out to be an undercover police officer -- to kill his
former girlfriend, authorities said.
Mark H. Rosenbaum, 34, was charged with solicitation to
murder Annette Suriani, 31, a Fair Oaks woman who recently broke off
a year-long relationship with Rosenbaum.
The officer, James A. Cox III, said Rosenbaum gave detailed
instructions, saying he wanted to rape Suriani and then watch while
she was slain, according to court documents.
Rosenbaum, who is unemployed and lives in the 8100 block of
Prescott Drive, was being held without bond yesterday at the county
jail, police said.
